In September, we had the pleasure to teach a workshop entitled "Re-inhabiting the envelope: adapting buildings to climate change" at the École Spéciale d'Architecture. Together with Faculty members Clarisse Labro and Antonio Lazo, we invited students to re-explore the envelope of existing buildings as a territory of action, where small gestures on the scale of an architectural fragment can produce major climate mediation, increasing thermal comfort, spatial experiences and ecosystem benefits. This course is an invitation to thicken and complexify architectural envelopes in order to better inhabit the climate regime to come.
