Combining expertise in sustainable design, structural optimization and real-estate development, we have developed a mass-customized, reversible, wooden platform, shifting the paradigm around urban renovation and climatic resilience.

Thermal

Covering the zinc roofs with high albedo materials such as wood and greenery reduces the solar radiation absorbed by the building, preventing summer overheat in the city, and passively combat the adverse effects of the heat island effect.

Fabrication

Manufactured in France in sustainably sourced wood, our prefabricated designs are customizable, supports local craftsmanship and carpentry expertise, and ensure a reduced on-site construction time.

Agriculture

Opening up the roofs for local food production takes advantage of underutilized urban spaces, raises inhabitants climatic awareness, and opens new avenues for responsible and decarbonized food consumption.

Climate

Creating pockets of greenery in the city allows to locally and passively filter air pollution, prevent sewage water overflow and above all fight widespread urban biodiversity loss.

Preservation

Allowing the city to temporarily and reversibly increase its climatic resilience to adapt to the challenges of the 21st century allows Roofscapes to protect the heritage of Paris historic zinc roofs while preventing their full-replacement.
