Projects

Roof Adaptation | 75001, Paris

Images of our project on the roof of a co-owned Haussmannian building in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. Ahead of theconstruction phase, the project received the APEx Prize from the City of Parisin 2025, awarded to architectural interventions in Paris that demonstrate exemplary bioclimatic design.

Roof Adaptation | 75006, Paris

Images of our construction site on top of an Haussmannian building in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. Beyond protecting the zinc roof from solar radiations, the project creates a new outdoor space at the roof level, an anchor for biodiversity and a way to capture rain water.

Adaptation of a high school roof | 75010, Paris

Images of our project on the roof of a publicly owned high-school built in the 20th century in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. The project will serve as a passive cooling device for the floor below and host students for workshop and recreation time.

Pilot projeCt

Alongside its ongoing projects, Roofscapes completed in the spring of 2024 a pilot project in the heart of Paris, on the roof of the former town hall of the 4th arrondissement, now home to the Académie du Climat. This prototype, developed as part of an R&D procurement contract supported by the City of Paris' Department of Ecological Transition and Climate, aims to measure the impact of Roofscapes’ climate adaptation projects in real-life conditions.

impact assessment

The project's experimental protocol aims to quantify changes in surface and indoor temperatures using thermal sensors, to measure water retention and water consumption, and to study the development of biodiversity using fauna-flora inventories. Initial temperature readings already indicate a temperature reduction of 10°C under the zinc when shaded by the platform, which would be excellent news in the efforts to adapt cities to climate change.
